Album Notes

'Us, In This Place' is a compilation of some of Roger Drienka's best conscious-raising lyrics and heart-felt messages. Enjoy the unique blend of violin, sax and cello melded with the power of keyboards, bass guitar and drums.
The simple name 'Us' is contrary to the complexity of the individuals who make up this extraordinary band. Their sound has been compared to the "Moody Blues" band as "Us" juxtaposes classical, folk and rock music.
Experience the strength and solid energy produced by the unity of this musical combination. Extreme positive force will envelope your senses!
Performing on 'In This Place' are Roger Drienka, lead vocals/guitar; Lori Drienka, backup vocals/violin/cello; Ed Ford, drums; Park Peters, backup vocals/keyboards; David Mitchell, tenor & alto sax, flute and clarinet; Daria Joanna, cello; Susan Phelan, bass guitar.
Greg Glasgow of the Boulder Daily Camera writes "Coal Creek Canyon based 'Us' has an obvious affinity for '70s folk rock bands like Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention. Acoustic guitar, saxophone, violin and
cello provide a suitably intricate background over which vocalist Roger Drienka-who sounds uncannily like Tull's Ian Anderson-drapes his sophisticated melodies. 'In This Place' is well-produced for a local release, and the abundance of acoustic instruments gives it an impressively rich sound".
