Album Notes

United State of Mind started as a project in the '80s as an experimental vehicle for a revolving list of musicians and friends to explore new musical horizons for fun. During the early 2000's, a more focused approach was taken by members Al Peteraf and Chuck Heck with a commercially viable CD in mind as a goal. Quickly enlisting the help of Mark Wells, a talented local drummer whose background includes work with several pro acts, and Ed Wells, guitarist, arranger, and studio owner, the project took off and so did a lasting friendship. Soon, Lance Ryan on keys, and Tim Brill on bass(both talented well known Philly musicians) were on board to complete the lineup. What evolved was a power-house of writing and playing ability. In one of those rare musical moments, the right people met at the right time, and the CD "U" is the result of over a year of writing, playing, and recording. Along the way, samples of the on-going project were sent to critical listeners from Maine to the U.K., and received incredible support and anticipation for the finished work--- which we are now proud to announce is available. If you like rockers, we got 'em. If you like ballads, we got 'em. If you prefer quirky and clever, we got 'em. There is something for everyone of all ages on this one, folks. Enjoy!

This CD is wonderful. It has a great mix of music so there's something for everyone. Most CD's all their songs tend to sound alike. With "U" You can never get bored of all the facinating sounds it has to offer. This is a great buy!! Share it with the world.

Diversity makes the difference!

Just got a chance to listen to this from a friend of mine... My, my, diversity in style is apparent and welcome! What a fine debut album. Although raw in some areas of production and vocal quality, the album is fabulous from a musical perspecative nonetheless. All over the classic style and feel, these originals have substance, body, and feel. Great hook, bridges, and changes in Stay, Analiese, and Rain on the Window. Solid tunes with lots of potential. When are you playing in the UK? I will be ordering the CD shortly and be there if you come to the UK! A great first effort and definately someone I would support and see live. Come see us and cross the pond! Steve P.
