Steve Vaile's passion is music, so everything this Pacific Northwest native does pretty much connects in some way to music and the music business. Steve was born into a musical family and his mother sang opera and his dad was a lap-steel guitar player in a country band. His first piano compositions were made on his mother's heirloom upright piano. At 7 years old his first piano lessons came from Laurie Pratt, who directed his mom's symphonic choir.
After graduation from chef school in the 70's, Steve and a group of friends planned a trek to South America. Music is an international language. He became an expert at finding a piano in even the smallest of villages. One day in Quito, Ecuador, he went to a grand cathedral and asked the priest if he could play their pipe organ. Steve had played a pipe organ when he worked at the Washington State School for the Blind as a student chauffer during college.
