Album Notes

"What About You" is influenced by some favorite artists from over the years- the sounds of The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Jarre’, Vangelis and classical symphonies. Produced by Steve Vaile and Aram ‘Hippie’ Cartozian, this special edition EP features "Hippie's Wall Of Sound". The 4-song EP is a taste of a new full-length CD project currently in production. The full vocal and choir ‘single’ is now here at CD Baby at http://cdbaby.com/cd/vaile6

“A homeless man I met recently in Hawaii inspired the title track. "What About You", were the first words that came out of his mouth when I offered him some food.”

“Hurricane Katrina also had a hand in the inspiration of this new CD. The first song I wrote when I was living in Kula, Maui, was “I Want To Make Music”. That was back in 1977 when my life up on the slopes of the Haleakala Crater was glowing with rebirth and expansion. My buddy had just recently passed away in San Francisco and I processed the loss of my friend by creating music.”

“This last year when the Katrina Hurricane devastated New Orleans and the surrounding area I was moved to write a new chorus and bring the two pieces together. Katrina raised our ability to know compassion and what followed inspired “Hurricane I Want To Make Music.”
"What About You" is dedicated to those in need and all our homeless that struggle to survive.”

Steve Vaile International

"...Dedicated to raising human consciousness through music and media"

Steve Vaile's passion is music, so everything this Pacific Northwest native does pretty much connects in some way to music and the music business (whether producing his original music or other artists). Steve was born into a musical family. His mother sang opera and his dad was a lap-steel guitar player in a country band. That was an interesting combination growing up.

Steve resides in Portland, Oregon, and has lived and played music from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oahu and Maui to Quito, Ecuador.
His venues of performance include college campuses, America's Bicentennial Celebration rock festival at Diamond Head Crater in Hawaii, and even a cathedral in South America. He has played concerts for Whales and dolphins with underwater speakers and hydrophones using a white grand piano on the deck of the 65' schooner, 'The Searunner', for John Perry's 'Save The Whales' film off the coast of Maui. While living in Los Angeles for the film's post-production recording, many concerts were given in Southern California, including the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium featuring Paul Horn.

Based in Portland, Steve continues to operate his project studio, developing music for film, video, CD releases and upcoming performances.
