Album Notes

From Seven Days in Burlington, VT..."Davis plays all the instruments on the four newest tracks and gets a bit of help on the rest. He's a strong singer; his smoky, smooth voice makes even the clunkiest lines sound deep and poetic. What really shines is Davis' acoustic guitar playing, though he's no slouch on any of the other instruments."

About Val
Music for me has always been a retreat, both when listening and producing. I started playing as a teen and started writing shortly thereafter. Music can take me to new places. I like to try to produce music that I like. I love Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, CSN, Imogen Heap, Kevin Gilbert, Moke, Kate Bush and Seal just to name a very few. I admire real musicians who write, play and perform their own music. I appreciate music that can give me goosebumps or make feel something powerful. I hope that my music moves people or makes them think. When that happens, I feel like I have accomplished something.

I first heard Val Davis' "Texas Sky" at garageband.com. I had to look for more from this artist. Found the Immortal CD, listend to an addtional track or two and purchased it immediately. Power, grace, acoustic chops galore, and a songwriting style that grabs and holds. And lets not forget a voice that combines the best from Steven Stills and Peter Gabriel. I continue to be blown away by the talent in the independent music 'industry.' Val Davis has just shot to the top of my list.

I first heard the Texas sky song at Klipsch speakers web site. As an avid music lover I fell in love with the sound of val's music and the power of his work upon myself and my wife. After listening to the complete cd, We bless you Val to keep on revealing the connection of us all...to us all. We would also like to see and hear Val in a concert.

Excellent CD. Immortal is classic roots rock-n-roll, with lyrics that can be thought-provoking or witty.
