Arkadiy Figlin and Valeri Grokhovski first met while being classmates at Moscow Gnessin Institute in the 80s.They formed a piano duo and shortly after enjoyed a quick success participating in major jazz festivals in USSR and abroad and making TV and radio appearances. But only in a few month of a new career full of promise and hope musicians split up-they could not decide whether to call their project "ArkLeri" or "ValKadiy".So they continued their separate ways. They both graduated, got married(NOT to each other!), had a sons, won awards, moved to USA in 1991,got a jobs, Valeri gained a little weight, Arkadiy lost a little hair, Valeri gained some more weight, Arkadiy lost some more hair and finally after Valeri gained A LOT of weight and Arkadiy lost ALL his hair it became obvious-It was the time for reunion. And you can see the result of this reunion right here. Christmas Album was recorded in June of 1995 in boiling-hot San Antonio. And that’s exactly why you are guaranteed to feel warm and cozy even without fireplace on beautiful Christmas Eve-just put this album on.
