Album Notes

Valter is the new project of Paul Pitkin, former singer of Seattle’s legendary band Anabret. Expanding on Anabret’s lush sound, Pitkin plays all the instruments but drums, and creates a full band sound from one person. The compositions retain Pitkin’s signature combination of ethereal sounds, memorable songs, and powerful vocals. Pitkin’s earlier work with Anabret was included on Auralgasms first compilation CD, The Beat of Dis-content, while the song The Coming Night was featured on Fox Television’s John Doe. With elements of Radiohead, Film School, Minus the Bear, and Editors, Valter is music that never bores.

I stumbled upon Valter and I'm glad I did. Deep and atmospheric with a voice that soars above it. These songs stay with you.

I can definitely hear the Radiohead influence, I'd also compare his voice to Jeff Buckley. This is a surprisingly good CD, I highly recommend.

So Worth The Wait
author: David
After his departure from the now-defunct Anabret I thought we might never hear Paul Pitkin's music again. I'm so glad to be wrong. This CD has been worth the wait and start to finish it shows that one *can* improve on perfection. If you buy only one disc today, make it this one!
