Said to be where only the strong survive and the land "Where everybody waits inline", New Jersey is home to harsh petro chemicals, 3 a.m. Diner visits, and Van Atta High. A five piece screamo/post hardcore band hailing from Bergen County, New Jersey. Originating during June 2006, with the full potential of conquering their goals, and creating the sickest fan base known to man. Within just four short months, Van Atta High has played a good amount of shows all over the tristate area. Playing at venues such as "The Stone Pony" in Asbury Park, NJ and working their way into the city by playing the "R&R" club in lower Manhattan, NYC. With their newly entitled EP "We Are The Captivated," release on June 24th of 06, Van Atta High has already recieved much positive street credit all around New Jersey.

The EP with 5 mind blowing tracks professinally recorded and pressed starts off with the single "Close To Comfort." A powerfull song with catchy lyrics and hard screams, once the breakdown comes in, its dancing time!

The second track title "Dead in the Water" starts off with a quick riff and slowly moves into a melodic rock verse and finishing off with an EPIC ENDING. The guitar in this song will shurly keep your ears in check and you'll find yourself paying attention the entire time.

The third track is title "Abstemy" and you will most deffinatly find yourslef singing this song to yourself at the most random moments. You wont be able to get it out of your head!

The fourth track "American Scholar" is a different side of Van Atta High. Shredding guitar, BIG BREAKDOWNS, and screaming vox would even satisfy the heaviest of listners.

The last track on the EP "A Void in Context" is a melodic acustic with jaw dropping vocal pitches and heartfull lyrics. While being the softest song on the EP, it still has the Van Atta High elements, and is like no other acustic song you have ever heard befor.
