Album Notes

After releasing 4 full-length albums and 2 EPs, Vanessa Peters has finally released her first collection of holiday songs. The title track is a wistfully optimistic song penned by Peters that sets the tone for the whole album. The album is a delightful collection of traditional favorites like "White Christmas" and modern Christmas songs like The Weepies' "All That I Want." The album began as a side project intended to get Vanessa back into the studio after a nearly 3-year hiatus, and it turned into an all-consuming affair that helped Vanessa and her producer, Rip Rowan, get through the hottest summer in 30 years. As Vanessa said laughingly, "There's nothing quite like singing "White Christmas" while the temperature outside is 110 degrees to really put you in the Christmas spirit. We really WERE dreaming of a white Christmas at that point."

This is an album sure to be enjoyed by fans of Vanessa's original work and by anyone who enjoys a lovingly-done Christmas album. The songs have been arranged with her own personal touch, but they stay true to their original spirit and charm.
