Band bio:

"We don't give a fuck! Trends come and go... we just do what we wanna do" state the band. Finland's hottest new band Vanity Beach are currently in studio laying down finishing touches on their eagerly awaited new album 'VENGEANCE' and the search for the right label has begun. "Imagine Pantera jamming with Duran Duran... that's what the new material sounds like" says frontman J. Karsten. Crushing guitars, hard hitting beats layered with catchy vocal hooks and soothing synth melodies. "We listen to everything from fuckin' Journey to Mortician... I guess this is what happens" proclaims bassist Post. Hailing from the hometown of Max Payne, Espoo, the band consisting of T2s (drums, age: 22), Post (bass synth, age: 23) Marty Vain (lead guitar, age: 23), Juno Forth (synths, samples, age: 24) & J. Karsten (vocals, guitars, age: 22) was formed in early 2002 after the demise of Juno's, T2s' and J's former band Cum.

A reputation of being a killer live act has been established by playing everything from small club shows to major venues, from opening up for bands like Swedish pop act; Shout Out Louds to playing Scandinavia's biggest metal festival, the Tuska Festival. "Anything can happen at a VB show, anything" explains Juno. Energy-filled, explosive live shows à la early Nine Inch Nails may come as a surprise to many, from a band that looks like the bastard offspring of Visage and Sex Pistols. Responding to this, the guys quote Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe; "Just cuz we wear lipstick, doesn't mean we can't kick your ass!". A website created by Pixelghetto Studios (Type O Negative, Orgy) was launched back in 2002, and is now receiving thousands of weekly hits.

The critically acclaimed debut CD; 'Nights Of The New' was released independently by the band back in April, 2003 and the sales exceeded all expectations. The first printing of the CD sold out only within a couple of weeks of it's release! 'Nights Of The New' featured such fan favorites as 'Fight Through The Night', 'Girls On TV' and a collaboration with Canada's The Birthday Massacre; 'The Knight Murders'. "this is impressive" writes Smother.net. "My only complaint is that the CD is too short! I want more!" concludes D1 Music. An extended version of the album is being released in Australia on October 17th, through Electricult Records/MGM and a short tour is being planned to take place early next year.

A music video for the song 'Take Me To Tokyo' was filmed at Europa Studios in Stockholm, Sweden with Alex Frejrud and is set to debut on the band's website (www.vanity-beach.com) in September.

Reviews:

4/5 -Noise.fi

"A quick three-song EP single from the upcoming "Vengeance" is enough to convince me that Vanity Beach, a Finland native is needing to sit down and deliver a full-length into my hands immediately. As I said before, this band is impressive but I want more than just this three-song teaser. Some might be turned off by their makeup, black lipstick, and backwards hair parts but I guarantee that this electronic metal outfit could kick your ass and stomp in your face. Finland's Vanity Beach features members from another act I reviewed back in the day, Cum. Now they're searching for a label but I doubt highly that any record company could encapsulate this much energy." -Smother.net
