Album Notes

Once in a great while, a very special singer-songwriter comes along; Van Walworth is that kind of artist. His unique ability to write and sing fresh and inspiring melodies delights audiences everywhere. Like a modern day troubadour, Van travels the country roads of America with guitar and pen in hand touching the hearts and souls of all who hear him.

The breadth and depth of Walworth's lovely lyrics mingle with magnificent melodies, deeply stirring the heart, stimulating the mind, and refreshing the soul. With a warm and distinctive personality, Van sweeps listeners into his songs and stories as though they were written around their feelings and experiences. His stunning tenor voice combined with his infectious blend of wit and humor gives every audience "a lasting smile that sticks to their hearts."

Forged in a small Alabama country church, Van's love for music is deeply rooted in his southern heritage. His expansive musical experience is a product of his diverse performances in various choirs, bands, and tours with the groups, "Dayspring," and "Reflection."

"My fingers are a vital component of my ability to play guitar," says Van. "...a valuable lesson I learned after breaking one while playing defensive back for Coach Paul 'Bear' Bryant at the University of Alabama." Teaching guitar lessons is the secret ingredient that seasoned Van's guitar playing skills. He says, "The more I taught others to play, the more I seemed to know how to play myself."

Writing is a conscious focus and emphasis for Van. This is evident in the many poems and short stories that are cataloged, many from as early as junior high school. Van's artistry allows him to merge poems and music into remarkable lyrics and melodies. In the spirit of King David of old, songs of joy, hope, and restoration flow out of Van's heart and into the hearts of his audience. His music spans many genres including: country, folk, light rock, Christian, and patriotic.

There is a swelling fan base for Van's music because of its special appeal to a wide cross section of audiences. His music and lyrics resonate with people everywhere, touching them right where they are, bringing a moment of joy and encouragement, and beaming inspiration into their daily lives.

This is a great patriotic CD. It's for Americans, not republicans or democrats, blacks or whites or latinos, Christians or Muslims. It is a recognition of those many people that are waiting to help eveyone in times of disaster or oppression with the courage and selflessness that is so common of Americans. Other cultures think that we are weak because we really care about everyone in the world, that we give so freely; but that is our greatest strength. We ARE all together.
