"THE ART OF REAL TIME IMPROVISATION"

We have had in the western music since the Renaissance as well in the African, Indian, and Arabic cultures at least more than five hundred years history in the art of musical improvisation. In the last half century the huge popularity and virtuosity of Jazz perfomers have given a seal of approval to the word "Improvisation".

Integrating computer music systems to the musical improvisation demands obligatory for a formalistic description of musical elements. There are many obvious mathematical, behavioral and structural relationships in music, and countless representations, formalisms, and programming languages were developed specifically in order to support common musical concepts such as time, simultaneous behavior, and expressive control.

"The Art of Real Time Improvisation" is a new millennium product, where the integration of computer systems in the musical improvisation suggests how state-of-the-art information technology approaches can enhance traditional limitations and influence in the conception and implementation of new improvisation models .
