Album Notes

This CD, "The Back Twenty", introduces Steve Vasil, rhythm guitarist, keyboard/Hammond organ player, songwriter and vocalist. The CD features Steve's original music from the last twenty years, (1981 - 2001). It's a Beatelesque mix of music, from the countryish "Cotton Mill" to two songs written for Steve's children, "Baby Hughston" and "Emma" to the alcohol-induced "Blackberry Wine". Playing along with Steve on two songs is veteran tuba player Mark Smith, to whom the CD is dedicated. Performers looking for songs
can benefit from this CD-there are some nice songs with interesting chord structures and coherent lyrics. Of this CD, Steve says, "I had alot of fun compiling and recording it", and it shows in the final product. Steve served as the music director at his church, "The Center for Positive Living" http://www.cplofrome.org, a new thought church affiliated with Religious Science International. Steve
