VAV JUNGLE hails from Canada. Vav Jungle (who is solely owned & run by Eve Rice) makes music with quirky fun grooves to make you feel "real" and "with it". As of late, V.J. is being touted as one of the most important performance art act's around & one of the few to succeed in a few genres rather than just one. Eve from the band calls it "performance bar art". Other musicians appear live with Eve and on some recordings as well.
V.J. performs live & in-studio. The music has appeared in an episode of "The Chris Isaak Show", played regularly for years on the CBC nightime radio show "Nightlines" and in the film recent Hollywood feature "Jane White is Sick & Twisted" (http://www.janewhitemovie.com). Vav Jungle is also responsible for the theme music in the regional CBC FM show "Shaken Not Stirred" which airs twice a week on AM and FM radio in Winnipeg, Manitoba (CANADA).
CREAM CORN BATH
What can we say about Vav Jungle's "Cream Corn Bath"? Hmmm - It takes you to the land(s) of Eurotrash techno, new-wave and 70's disco. It's a skanky little album with a baby boomer baby feel. If you grew up in the height of new wave & weird dance tunes, you will get this album. Only difference is, it's all electronic but cranked up, it's really fun to 'freak out' to (and drink to, make love to). Eve is in a bath of dirty lookin' cream corn and adoringly looking at herself while burning up her mirror - The name of this album is inspired by an episode of "The Jerry Springer Show" - "This couple was into sex AND food and had a cream corn bath to clean up afterwards" says Eve of V.J. Hilarious!

The Trouservision music Review...Boogie on Cream corn!!
author: Trouser Von Helm
There are very few musicians that can evoke new and highly divergent tangental thoughts that Eve Rice and her wonderful sonic tapestry mastery in 'Cream Corn Bath'.
Either I'm swingin' in a museum or speculating on extraterrestrial intelligence in 'Oot Monster'- this album speaks to every level of consciousness...plus I want to boogie!

The most original new music I've heard in decades
author: ICEHOUSE3000
I don't recall hearing anything as unusual or original as Vav Jungle since I first heard the B-52's back in the very early 80's. This music is varied and diverse and thoroughly an archetype in electronica and dance music. Each track zaps futuristic sounds through your speakers while toying with traditional genres like disco, funk and Latin beats. If you're a fan of LeTigre, Miss Kittin, Chicks on Speed, Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich or any of the classic 80's new wave, then Vav Jungle is certain to open your eyes wide and make you dance.
