Album Notes

A LOVER OF MUSIC IN ALL ITS FORMS,
Joanne began to perform throughout the Rhode Island and Massachusetts areas in community choruses and theater groups in 1986. She studied classical voice for seven years with professor Blaine Corey, who says:"Joanne is a poised performer with a strong sense of style; she moves easily between styles of music. She has a lovely lyric contralto voice and a strong musical imagination..." Joanne is an avid member of St. John Vianney Music Ministry, an accomplished group of music professionals who serve as an inspiration to their parish congregation, as well as to many visitors from surrounding towns. Also an accomplished jazz vocalist, Joanne has performed at concerts, clubs and private functions, including the Grand Manor and Diamond Hill State Park. Vaughn Watson, of The Providence Journal, writes:"Her voice is soothing and friendly, like she's holding your hand across a table at the kind of intimate jazz spot that's hard to find these days."

REVIEWS

Lifts your spirits
author: Paul Lambert
This is a CD which seems to capture the dreams, optimism and simple joys of youth. The songs on the CD have a cumulative affect of reminding one of what it was like to be like to be young and carefree. I would even suggest that the calming effect of this CD may even lower ones blood pressure significantly. It certainly is a good antidote for the daily news. Great legendary material performed authentically and interpreted with just the right touch.

This one will stay in your player...
author: David Longo
Any true listening aficionado with the most discriminating ear can fully appreciate authenticity - and that is what you are in for. From the very first track, the selflessness and sincerity of this performer become immediately evident, in that Joanne does not sing AT you - she sings FOR you. It's refreshing to hear a soprano who can project with the clarity that she does. Her inflection leads one to easily discern that this is music straight from the heart. Her mellifluous voice, appropriate selection of classics, in conjunction with her tasteful choice of trio members who serve as the perfect compliment, constitute a real mood-lifting scenario in which you will feel compelled to engage yourself in again and again. This one won't collect dust on your shelf.
