Vegas with Randolph’s 2008 debut CD has been called “brilliant, hook-filled…a “home run!”, “an extremely strong, out of nowhere debut”, and “a pop delight…that deserves attention in the power pop community,” and their music has been compared to Fastball, Sloan, Lannie Flowers, and Fountains of Wayne. As well as rave reviews, VWR's music has been featured on compilation CDs, and received a 2008 “Song of the Year” nomination and a 2009 "Modern Rock Recording of the Year" nomination by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). VWR's debut CD was also listed among the 100 Top CD's of 2009 by Absolute Powerpop.com

In late 2009, VWR released the new EP "Side Trip" which offers a preview of the all new material the band is focusing on for their upcoming second full length CD, including several new cuts and novelty songs. Some of the bands most upbeat work to date, ST features the singles "The Better Part" & "Marisa', the irreverent Christmas tune "Lagavulin for Christmas" and the band's first children's song "The Sippy Cup Song".
