Album Notes

Velvet Alex formed in 1997 as a female fronted Modern Rock meets 1980's Pop band from Salt Lake City, Utah. After conquering the Utah music scene they gave up their day jobs, and successfully completed two tours opening for such great acts as 'Gene Loves Jezebel', 'Missing Persons',and 'Spoon'. Velvet Alex then settled in Mill Valley, California to record this album . Unfortunately there are only a limited amount of these hard to find CD's available. They are a steal at 5 bucks so order yours now, they also have a live single "Reactor" recorded for Orange Peal Records available through iTunes and Amazon.com

Well thought-out compilation of music

Velvet Alex has done an excellent job of creating a very smooth sound with Not Only The Alien. The vocals are capable and capture a coctail of rock influences, while the musicianship is steady and groovy. This is definitely ready for national exposure!

Great Variety In Musical Tastes :-)

I guess I had stumbled into this CD and got attached to all of their songs. And I've listened to it for a few weeks straight. This CD reminds me of a bunch of other artist such as No Doubt, but in many different ways. Vocals are just plain fantastic, so are the guitars! :-)I recommend it to anyone who's into some punk and mellow flavor of rock. Personally, it's great to work to, fall asleep to, sing along with, and dance to even! :-) Best music ever right now.
