Who is Jimmy Velvet?
Jimmy Velvet was a young recording artist in the 1950’s /1960’s and still performs today with hit songs as ‘We Belong Together’, ‘Teen Angel’, ‘It’s Almost Tomorrow’ and ‘Blue Velvet’, just to name a few. (Elvis was 20) Elvis and Jimmy remained life long friends. After Elvis’ untimely death, Jimmy became the founder and CEO of the Elvis Presley Museum located in Memphis, Nashville, Orlando and Honolulu. The museum hosted the largest authentic collection of artifacts owned by Elvis in the world. The museum also included a world wide tour exhibit of selected personally owned items once belonging to Elvis. Jimmy has been known by many as “The Godfather of Memorabilia” as quoted by Rolling Stone Magazine.
As a performer, Jimmy Velvet had toured with just about everyone in the rock n’ roll business and also rubbed elbows with many noted celebrities in hollywood. By his side was his camera and he took thousands of photos and has built a large library of unbelievable unpublished candid shots. Jimmy has now compiled these photos and has released his photo-biography entitled “Inside The Dream: The Jimmy Velvet Story”
