Rock that is not only lush, but also rocks.

It's one thing to rock-hard, and Venus Bleeding does that, no prob - but it's quite another to do with the resonance that rings through "Fakelore".

The Oakland combo weaves together a spellbinding sound.

Venus Bleeding originated in Modesto, CA sometime in 1994, but can be currently found in Oakland, CA.

We've had the oppurtunity to perform at many great venues (mostly San Francisco) such as: the Fillmore, the Great American Music Hall, the Bottom of the Hill, Slim's, the Coco Club (R.I.P.), the Paradise Lounge, the Covered Wagon, El Rio, the DNA Lounge, the Justice League, Kimo's, Cocodrie (R.I.P.), the Gilman (Berkeley), the Berkeley Square (R.I.P.), the Stork Club (Oakland), the Usual (San Jose), the Cactus Club (San Jose), Art's Bar (Santa Barbara)

And we've had to pleasure to share the stage with amazing bands:

    Fakelore shows the deep potential that Venus Bleeding can bring to the table. The creative use of violin and the awesome vocals really rock. I have seen Venus Bleeding in concert and they are awesome live as they are on this CD. My greatest concern is that this maybe the last CD we see from this band - that would suck. Hopefully the will get signed which will open the door for this diamond in the rough band.

    Tunes that jump genres seemlessly, infectious, hard without heavy,brings to mind Blondie, Siouxie ,jefferson airplane,janes addiction...All artists who put a kick in the pants of the same old stuff out there.Well produced with out losing the DIY ethic, this cd has converted me.
