Delightful is not a word I use often. But there's something so sprightly, so charming, so winningly winsome about this recording. If you're looking for some sun on a somber day, this cd is for you. The Anders Vercelli Trio plays. It doesn't overplay cloyingly or tiresomely. Rather, it plays the American Songbook like a kitten would a ball of string...deliriously and delightfully. There's a confident, elegant, artful elan here. And while the entire cd is consistently enjoyable -- a lighter-than-air confection, a pleasure that's never guilty -- I have to single out "Pure Imagination" for special praise. I can't help myself from smiling each time I hear it. Vercelli and Co. have conjured the twinkle in Gene Wilder's eye. My respect for Anders is endless. Before I was a recording artist, I could say that I grew up listening to Anders playing and singing in his house after dinner time. He'd play and I'd sit there and enjoy.

Listening to this CD makes me happy.  I love putting it on when I come home from work and am getting dinner going.  My baby girl and I enjoy dancing to the upbeat classics!  Anders played at our wedding so it also brings back wonderful memories!
