Veronika is an artistic singer-songwriter who combines her classical training and her talent to create emotional, intelligent, well thought-out songs like "All that I am" -- a runner-up in the "Song of the Year" contest, 2004 -- that appeared on her debut CD Dreams of Love.

Born and raised in Ukraine, often visiting and living in Hungary, traveling through, Slovakia, Chech Republic, the Baltic countries and Russia, Veronika Zhmeniak integrates her cultural experiences into her music. Veronika's natural vocal abilities coupled with her strong musical training in classical piano, voice and theory as well as an informal training in folk music, allow her to be vocally flexible and perform challenging songs with power and ease.

Beautiful melodies and complex harmonies are set to meaningful poetic lyrics that reveal the layers and depth of Veronika's personality as well as a deep spiritual awareness. The songs are enhanced by wonderful arrangements, often with string instruments. Classically influenced, these songs reach the listener as they have an ability to touch the soul.

Having a strong and diverse background in music, Veronika was able to succeed in the music program of Temple University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory/Voice and a Master's Degree in Music Theory. Currently Veronika teaches at Temple's Music Preparatory division for gifted young musicians, where she shares her knowledge and her love for music with a young generation of musicians. Some of her extremely talented students appear on stage with Veronika as part of a string ensemble. Veronika is a student of various forms of movement and positive mind-body practices. Her other interests include dance, film, art, poetry and other related disciplines.

Veronika has performed and toured with choirs, vocal and instrumental ensembles, took part in musical plays as well as solo performances from a very early age. Veronika still takes interest in a wide range of styles including classical, musical theater, new and contemporary popular music, which all, without a doubt, influence her music in an interesting and a unique way.

Recently Veronika has performed at Temple University, Manor College, Vision Cafe, Sweet Briar College, Amazing Grace Resource Center, The Point, and WXPN's World Cafe Live, as well as numerous live radio shows.
