Album Notes

Lynn Véronneau & Ken Avis

Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Véronneau, a classically trained soprano, embraces music ranging from Jazz to Folk, Blues and Pop. Her versatile, soft and exuberant voice conveys every shade and nuance
of the spectrum. At ease on stage and in the studio she has performed in Italian operas, recitals, clubs and festivals in France, Switzerland, Canada and the US. Lynn's independent debut CD "Something Cool" showcases the sensitivity of her performance sometimes delicate, sometimes explosive. Recorded in Quebec with young Canadian Jazz musicians It was voted among the top 10 releases of the year by CFLX 95.5FM radio DJs.

Laurin Wollan of Monthly Music magazine has said "All I know is that I am very happy to know that we have another beautiful voice out there making magic and making my heart smile."

Don Hagen of WJZW FM adds "a very talented singer...she brings out the warmth in each song". Lynn's voice has also been heard on various independent releases and Canadian television.

English Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Ken Avis has over 20 years performance experience both in solo and band settings. In London Ken was lead singer with WC Handy award winning swing/blues band, Otis Grand & the dance kings. Before embracing the acoustic genre he crafted his mellow sound playing Rock, Blues, Funk & Soul from Liverpool to Paris, Geneva to DC. During recent years he has worked as guitarist to Julie Sanderson and Rebecca McCabe and shared the stage with the Gene Philips Band, Freedy Johnson, Stacy Earle and Dave's True Story to name a few.

Laurin Wollan says "Lynn Véronneau has a partner in Ken Avis and what they have is chemistry".

Their 8 year collaboration has proven that opposites not only attract but can fuse in the most dynamic fashion, yielding a musical concoction as intimate as it is universal.
