Album Notes

Vertigo Pilots is a conglomeration of three diverse musicians who have stepped "out of the box" to create an eclectic musical experience. The band's philosophy is simple; no rules! Vertigo Pilot's music is the manifestation of true passion and an honest expression of the band member's observations as they travel through life. While the main instruments behind the Vertigo Pilots sound are bass, drums and guitar the band accentuates their music with a variety of instruments. Prior to forming Vertigo Pilots, the members of the band knew each other for many years having played studio and live situations together throughout their individual musical travels. The members of Vertigo Pilots are Steve Bulger, Tim Harrington and John Stevens.

Steve "I don't understand your genius" Bulger is Vertigo Pilot's quintessential bass player and lead vocalist. With funk in his veins and a song up his sleeve Steve is a musical firestorm on stage. In addition to holding down the bottom end, Steve also contributes acoustic guitar playing to the Vertigo Pilots sound. Prior to joining Vertigo Pilots, Steve played in Platypus (Vain Records) whose single "swing" received heavy rotation throughout the southwest. In addition, Steve has been involved in several successful band projects throughout the East and West Coast and has performed on various studio projects for advertising and commercial applications.

Tim "how many strings does that guitar have" Harrington is Vertigo Pilot's guitarist and backing vocalist. Having graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, Tim can now stretch a chord from the first to the twelfth fret with one hand. Besides providing a cornucopia of guitar sounds to the band Tim throws in the occasional keyboard part. Prior to joining Vertigo Pilots, Tim played in successful band projects throughout Germany and the Eastern United States. In addition, Tim has written and recorded radio ad music for McDonalds and provided TV commercial music for the Balfour Corporation. Tim passes the guitar faith on through private lessons to a select few and writes music for web page applications.

John "this tune is way to slow" Stevens is Vertigo Pilot's rhythm maker. John contributes drums, percussion and the occasional acoustic guitar and backing vocal part to Vertigo Pilot's sound. Having graduated from the Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA. and Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. John can twirl his sticks and balance the band's books at the same time. Prior to joining Vertigo Pilots, John played in successful band projects throughout the Eastern and Western United States and performed on various studio projects within multiple musical styles.

The music on "Over the Eclectic Edge" is totally predicated on free expression and is, as we see it, a musical revolution. There were no "suits" involved in the writing or recording of this music, only artists. We believe in the diversity and imagination of the world audience and that to truly express ones self you must break the constraints of shortsighted commercialism.

This is a great musical ride, so crank it up and hold on.......

I wanted to hear the current group that Tim Harrington was involved in. I loved his first album and simply enjoyed this new group of very talented musicians as well. The recordings are professional and the songs are well put together. I am a CD collector and have listened to thousands of bands. There are some that really come together and then there are some that are difficult to listen to. If anyone is in the mood to purchase and listen to new tunes, then these CD's are for you. All the songs are enjoyable and from what I remember by listening to the albums, there are no swears words! Which to me is very important being a musician myself. There is a time and a place, and in music is not one of them. When there is anger written in a song it could be expressed differently and with talent. Thank you again for putting this album together. If there is an album that I was surely pleased with purchasing this year it would be these two CD's here!
