Welcome to A Very Vancouver Christmas Volume 3!
As with most new things it takes a while for them to catch on. That's why we're really excited about this year's album, because it seems to be 'catching on' and some folks are even making it's purchase a holiday habit! That makes our charity happy and me, in turn, even happier!
We're also thrilled this year to have another amazing group of local artists as well as a few special out of town guests, as is often the case at the holidays. We are pleased to introduce one of our favorite artists to you: Rick Fines who has generously allowed us to use his song "Country Christmas Blues", and our very lovable Bobby Richards, who after some coercion on my part, let me turn his Lullaby into: "Christmas Lullaby".
Last year we also had some great feedback as well as more world-wide sales, and I am really looking forward to this year's project as we will also be having some benefit concerts where you can come and see the artists live, and have them sign a CD for you! Watch for updates at: www.myspace.com/veryvancouverchristmas.
Last year's album was such a success we're doubling our order this year so there will be plenty to go around. Watch for it at local retailers as well as local music venues and coffee houses. Please contact me if you would like a current list of retailers or if you would like to BE one of our retailers, or if you are interested in booking an artist or event, I'd be happy to chat with you!
We'd love to hear your thoughts on this year's album, please drop us a line and enjoy!

“A VERY VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS VOL.3” Various Artists (Rave On) *****
Every December we are expected to buy the same holiday songs over and over again. Sure there might be a hundred different versions of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” by different artists, but it’s the same tune. So color a Scrooge like me tickled to find this in the mail, featuring 13 original holiday songs by Vancouver-based artists.
The list of artists includes Rick Fines, Melissa-Rae Anne, Bobby Richards and tons more, but the biggest attraction is that these are original tunes, not remakes of the same old stuff. That this is music for a good cause is beside the point, but still worth noting. Every cent of the ten bucks you spend on this disc goes to the BC-SPCA. The tunes are mostly in the country/ folk/ pop veins- so if these are sounds you enjoy hearing in your home, and your copies of Bing Crosby’s “Merry Christmas” or “A Charlie Brown Christmas” need to take a breather, put this on- it’s excellent.
KEY CUTS: “Country Christmas Blues” (Rick Fines), “My List” (Melissa-Rae Anne), “Reindeer Touchdown” (Lindsay May)
