His eclectic mix of Styles include: Drum 'n Bass , Techno, Ambient, Breakbeat, Electro, Down-tempo and Nu-Jazz among many others. VFX continues to navigate and deftly map un-chartered territory.
In addition to performing live worldwide as a solo techno artist (VFX), he has recorded and performed with a wide variety of Rock, Jazz and Electronic artists such as Cold Cut, keyboardist Philippe Saisse (GRP/Verve), Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Angelique Kidjo, Wayne Krantz and Underworld to name a few.
He has been interviewed and featured in Musician magazine, XLR8R, DRUM! Magazine, Modern Drummer, CBS "Up to the Minute" News, NBC's Today Show, Fox TV News, BBC TV, Musicien Quebecois plus a variety of Techno Publications, radio and TV shows in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan. A classically trained percussionist and native New Yorker, VFX has created a hybrid electro-acoustic percussion system that allows him to play and REMIX LIVE, any sound that you would normally hear on a record such as breakbeats, ambient FX, Movie quotes, melodies, bass lines, harmonies and vocal samples ALL in realtime on stage. As VFX describes it, "It's like combining the best parts of being a composer, piano player, bass player and DJ."
