In a recent reunion with my mother, aunt, a cousin, and my grandmother, I heard Daring to Sing for the first time. My aunt, who was introducing me to Daring to Sing, had identified a song for each of us. We all laughed, marvelled, and cried over the penetrating, yet hillarious insights about the oh-so feminine aspects and true words about the race of women. The songs my aunt identified for each of us were truly applicable and brought delight and comfort to each of us! Thanks to Daring to Sing for the comforting and connecting moment. I frequently listen to My Song, Crazy, and smirk at my own silliness, then feel conviction over the final word, Grattitude. It gives me a sweet reminder, gentle jab in the ribs and then, an empowering plan of action. To listen to the songs, look around the room at the women in my family who have gone before me and to think about how Daring to Sing could reach across the generations to bring a very earthy connection between us was a moment I will never forget. A woman is a fellow traveller in this world with other women. A woman is, after all, a woman!
