Thank you for enjoy my art!
This compilation "Embark" (c)(p)2000 - 2007 contains my personal favorites from three previously released albums (which are no longer in print) along with 4 new works "Eclipse", "The One For You", "Yangucho" and "Goddess and Messenger".
Embark signifies the renewal of my creative motivation, having entered a period in my life (just before the conception of this compilation), where passion was lacking in almost all areas of my life and having not produced anything for three years, finally climbed out of the rubble of self pity and started work on putting this CD together.
I also wanted to bring together three of my favorite artists who I have been working with off and on for over seven years.
Karen Ann Sim (Karen Letch on the CD) is an incredible fiddler and has impeccable artistic sense, she is the life of "Winter" (Embark 2007) and I am the atmosphere on that track. I met Karen around 2001 while busking (street performing) in the same complex at the time called Eau Claire Market (Calgary, AB CANADA). Her personality and spirituality are powerful, something to behold, so loving, sensitive with her being and so generous with her art. She is a Goddess in my eyes the "Lady Of Dragons"! Ben Johnson is a Renaissance man and multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire! Ben also composes for and performs with http://www.myspace.com/rembetikahipsters Ben composed tracks 9 "Yangucho" which is a delightfully jazzy piece with minimal electronica & track 10 "Goddess and Messenger" an evocative minimal electronica piece featuring Alan Burns on bansuri flute, on these new creations Ben had me improvise in the parts for guzheng.
Alan Wall is a huge supporter of music and has had over thirty years of experience in music both as an artist, and producer. I am eternally grateful and blessed to have this great human being in my life. For more on Alan Wall please visit him at http://www.myspace.com/nrsproductions
Prior to its release online for the first time, "Embark" has already been very well received around the world. I am happy to bring it back into print and also in digital form (for the first time) making it available to you now!
