Forming in San Diego, California, the band's penchant for mood and melody was quickly received by the city's music scene, earning them radio play, album/show reviews through mainstream and independent press and receiving awards and nominations in both the 2001 and 2002 San Diego Music Awards. Opening for bands such as The New Pornographers, No Knife, David J., The Fruit Bats, Stereo Total, The Incredible Moses Leroy and more, as well as members active involvement in the Album Leaf on national Sigur Ros and headlining Album Leaf tours, the group has been busy performing and touring themselves to support the release of both "We Heart Music" a split EP with indie rock group Goodbye, Blue Monday, as well as a new album of Via Satellite remixes from various artists called "re:Public". Buying this CD was an excellent move on my part. I heard one of their songs on a movie soundtrack which was so good that I wanted to find out more about the group and their CD's. Thanks to CD Baby, I was able to preview all the songs on the album. It sold me. Now Traffico is one of my very favorite albums. Thanks CD Baby!!

With warm washes of guitar, vocal caressing and expansive, gravity-defying harmonies not to mention the "lift" that these guys seem to maintain even in their deeply rooted rhythmic grooves, this is a sonic tonic that hungry emo and indie pop lovers will fight over everywhere. With a sound as accessible as U2 yet with a proud, unwavering vision of its own, Via Satellite teases the ear with a sound simultaneously reassuring and prodding.

I had picked up this CD at one of their shows and it's simply perfect in that it vocalizes many of my inner-attitudes. I listened to it while sitting in traffic the other day and was lost in this pre-apocalyptic world of screaming angels, running rabits, sinking submarines, and pending floods -Simply brilliant!
