Album Notes

Welcome to VINCE & the VICEROYS "TROUBLE DROPPED BY!" site!

My name's Pincus Scutari. If you've already visited the site for the band's first albumn: "GOIN' OUT TONIGHT!", then you already know who I am. I'm a bass-player, and Vince asked me to write this stuff, and tho' Lon Williamson played bass on that albumn, I played on this one.

"TROUBLE DROPPED BY!" followed a couple of years later. It's an albumn that I'm proud to be on.

The core band here is:

Vince on Lead-vocal and guitar;
William ("Billy") Baker on drums;
Me on bass,

and:
a big bunch of other players too many to mention
(sorry Vince!)

Vince wrote all of the songs, except "Lucille", which was written by the great Clyde McPhatter - do you know him? ... one of the true Founding Fathers of Rhythm & Blues/Doo-Wop - the band sounds great on it! I love everything on this albumn, with particular emphasis on "A Few More Steps", and the title song: "Trouble Dropped By".
As always, Vince's guitar is a stand-out ... always recognizeable ... rich & expressive; and the songs ... imaginative and appealing - and fun to play!

After this albumn, Vince collaberated with the great TONY PASSA, of THE FASCINATORS fame, to produce the world's first ever Doo-Wop "concept" albumn: "HUBERT's DIME MUSEUM", which is getting enthusiastic airplay in Doo-Wop City (sometimes known as
New York!)!!

At this moment, Vince and the lovely Debbie Rider are joining forces on a new version of the blues band. They're planning a new albumn, too!

When you click on "Vince & the Viceroys", immediately below "links", on the lower-left side of this page, you'll see and hear some "live" video, 'captured' by our good friend & Producer, Jim Devito on his hand-held, video camera - the band didn't even know that he was at the concert - you'll enjoy it. It's a little rough, yet with a great feel! Billy's on the drums, and the bass is being very capably handled by our good friend Doug Cole, who's now the steady bass-player!

... best wishes!
Pincus
