Album Notes

Vicky Andres

Vicky Andres has been writing and singing since the age of three. She began playing guitar at fourteen and over time developed a seasoned bluesy style influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Page. She has shared the stage with many musicians through the years including Phillip walker. Tucker and Thomas and the James Armstrong blues band.

"Vicky Andres should be acknowledged as being among the leading singer songwriters of her generation. Her songs -self confessional, passionate, life affirming, full of poetic imagery and always intelligent, combined with her rich, powerfully engaging, slightly on the edge voice and imaginative and sensitive guitar playing- draw the listener and never let up!! Vicky is truly and outstanding talent. She needs to be heard by many!!!"
David Maxwell, artist/ musician, Tonecool Records

Her vocals have been described as a mix of Grace Slick, Ann Wilson and Melissa Etheridge. Her songwriting style is a combination of many influences... Led Zeppelin, Heart, Rickie Lee Jones, Melissa Etheridge, Live and Joan Osborne to name a few.

"Power and passion. An amazing singer and songwriter. Startlingly original, Vicky Andres has the chops to go all the way to the top." Dave Isaac WKIT Bangor, Me

In 1998 she released her debut CD in "February Rising" which received much airplay and recognition. Her most recent release "Attitude and Gratitude" is packed with powerful vocals, tender intricacies and sweet textures.

"The pixieish face of Vicky Andres that peers out from her "Attitude and Gratitude" CD does not prepare you for the gritty, bluesy passion that issues forth from the 12 tracks that make up this powerful rocking album She out-growls Etheridge with the strength of an Ann Wilson or a Grace Slick." Lucky Clark What's Happening CD reviews

"I could listen the this CD everyday for hours...sometimes I do" Angie C. Good Vibrations Music

When playing in her full band project, the incredible talents of Gregg McGowan and Jason Dean Join her. Gregg to say the least is and amazing guitar player. His sensitivity to the dynamics of the songs is extremely valuable. He plays everything from tender passages to ripping solos. Gregg also plays bass when the unit becomes a trio. Jason's drums are the perfect addition to round out this rhythm section. He has all the chops, versatility and more. The word tasty comes to mind. He is a true talent.

Vicky is currently a performing member of Indiegrrl and booking shows in the New England area

Vicky's writing on "February Rising" was amazing. Be prepared to be swept away to the places she is singing about. Vicky is a wordsmith! Her guitar playing is as powerful and as full of emotion as her vocals. I love this CD and highly recommend it!
