Victor Fields has been a performer most of his life. As a young boy, he inherited the gift of song from his Julliard-trained mother. Today, he is an artist who brings a fresh and distinct sound to the music world.
At the same time he was making a name for himself as a well-respected businessman in the San Francisco area, Fields was also pursuing a music career. After studying voice with the renowned vocal coach, David Tigner, he began "sitting in" at San Francisco/Bay Area clubs. It wasn't long before he became popular on the private party circuit in San Francisco and Napa Valley.
Victor is also an accomplished writer. Coming to grips with a family crisis was the inspiration for writing "Promise", the title track from his debut CD. On his new release, "52nd Street", he offers his listeners a collection of classic songs and two originals, "Five-Two Blues" and "Open Your Heart". The first song is dedicated to the legendary Joe Williams and the golden age of swing. The latter is dedicated to the victims of September 11, 2001.
The CD, "52nd Street", is a paean to an era of musical creativity. But the tribute goes deeper than that. The spirit and the energy Fields brings gives listeners the feeling that they are club hopping down New York's fabled jazz strip.
From the soulful version of Burt Bacharach's "Walk On By" to the Brazilian Portuguese strains of "Bluesette," Fields guides the listeners through a trip down this imagined "52nd Street" and across the urban/jazz/pop spectrum, stretching the concept of the music way beyond its traditional boundaries.

I'm listening to Victor's style and his ability to interpret songs that have been done by other artist. But there is something special about the way that Vic handles these tracks as though they were written expressly for him. He has a great gift and immense talent. I think Victor Fields will be around for a long time. I love the selections, good CD, lovely cover of Black Orpheus and Nature Boy.

Exceptional Music!!!

The first time we heard the song "Black Orpheus" by Victor Fields in person at African World Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it was an enlightening experience. Right at that moment, we knew that Victor was destined to be a star with his golden voice. He further illuminated the audience with "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow." It was amazing to watch the reaction and hear the applause from the audience. Folks were just dancing and were excited. The final song, which is an instrumental mixed version of "Wouldn't You Like To Fly (reprise)," is truly a song to fly away with while taking this CD along. This first CD is really the anchor and guidepost of all the others. We just love the dedication to his dear wife Regina, and the voice of their daughter Gina in the end with a wonderful tribute. Get it today!!!
