VIDIOTS is a new series featuring comedian JOBY SAAD (Bananas, Thou Shalt Laugh,
Comedy Central) as the bumbling Village Idiot! He winds up in one miss-hap after
another, usually of his own making, but somehow manages to land on his feet. Set in
a modern day society where there are no motorized vehicles,
everyone depends upon horses, bicycles and public transit
for their transportation needs.
Being teased by the other Villagers is an occupational hazard
for someone who cleans up after the animals. He keeps the
village cleaned and causes havoc whenever he’s not peddling
his pooper scooper through the streets.
In the tradition of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton this is a
silent comedy. Theme Song “Village Idiot” by Steve Goodie,
vocals by Barbara Dorris.
In episode 2, it’s Laundry Day! The Village Idiot, Joby brushes
his teeth and prepares his body for the day with a rigous
workout ritual. He eventually makes it to the laundromat
where his attention is quickly caught by a mystery woman
who’s undies are spinning in a dryer. Who is this mystery
woman? A beautiful young woman (Alana Ball) loses her sock
and Joby is determined to find it no matter what.
Joby becomes bored and leaves the laundromat momentarily
only to return and spot a suspicious looking character (Koz
Hishida) leaving with Identical looking clothes?
The chase begins!! The fight between the two men jumps
from hilarity to absurdity.
