Known for his releases on LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking and Cookin' Records, Vincent steps out on his own with the first single for his new label Vision Of Sound. Yet again, he throws down grade-A complexity with a sleazy wide-screen sound and uncompromising production.
Vincent's second outing on his own VisionOfSound records, the Marksman EP is hot, brooding and intense, from the swelter and sleaze of Passenger, its opening track, the focused minimalism of its broken-beated second track LENS, and the final dark unavoidable climax of the title track Marksman... all done with Vincent's trademark electro-acoustic twists and turns.
Vincent (born 1967, London) studied contemporary classical and electro-acoustic composition with Denis Smalley at the University of East Anglia.
Since his return to London in 1993, he has been active worldwide in a variety of musical settings ranging from live electroacoustic performer and dj (Ministry of Sound Radio, FM4-Austria, Resonance FM, Rotterdam Film Festival, ICA, London Fashion Week, Glastonbury Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival) to guest and visiting lecturer at City University (London), International Bartok Seminar and Festival Series (Hungary), Visiones Sonoras Festival (Mexico).
In 1997, he established VisionOfSound releasing his own electro-acoustic works, which have gained critical praise in publications including The Wire, Time Out, Straight No Chaser, Jazzwise and Mojo.
