Album Notes

"Vinny Roth has put together a cd with real Blues,a great guitar sound and strong compositions. This disc has soulful grooves and melodies that keep your attention all the way through. With a strong rhythm section and modern harmonies all I can say is...I love "2 Stratz Are Better Than 1".....Jamie Glaser (Jean Luc Ponty, Chick Corea)

Rootsy rock and instro fusion are all tools in the repertoire of Queens,N.Y. native and now Virginia-based guitarist Vinny Roth. Backed by a bunch of session cats Vinny cuts right to the chase on a tasty album with diverse guitar styles and sounds. Highlights include an instrumental entitled "The Crippled Weight" that blends The Band's classics "Up On Cripple Creek" with "The Weight." With a couple vocal tracks and one live cut, Vinny's mostly instrumental ten track CD is filled with
slide-y 'lectric sounds ala Allman Bros. founder Dickey Betts and will appeal to a whole bunch of open mined guitar lovers who like their instrumentals between the genres. 20th Century Guitar (Dec. 2007)

Vinny grew up in New York but slowly migrated south to the Washington D.C. area, A hot bed of talents diverse as The Late Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan. Several features in Guitar Player and 20th Century Guitar magazine have helped him get exposure well deserved.Vinny pays homage to a vast array of his heroes as well as hitting every point of the style spectrum in his latest offering. One listen and you will be convinced that his playing and writing speak for itself!!

My Wallet!!
author: Douglas Shugg
This album is so good that I put it on and immediately found my wallet. I'd been looking for it for ages. Turns out, it was in my hand the whole time. So were my keys, but I wasn't looking for them. Anywho, I really enjoyed this album. Recipe for a great night: light some candles, throw on this album, dump some calgon in the tub and nirvana is yours!

Steller!!
author: Jimmy Glasgow
I love this disc, over the top guitar playing, tone and songs. If I close my eyes when I listen to this , it sounds like it could have been recorded in the 70's and engineered by Tom Dowd.. Great stuff I highly recommend it!!
