Album Notes

The word “unique” is overused almost as much as the word “love” but in the case of VINX, both words are true. With almost innocent passion, Vinx blends the voice of an old school crooner with hypnotic Afro/Caribbean rhythms and his cutting edge audio technology. It is truly a treat to witness this artist create in the moment while looping intricate layers of raw emotion.

To give you a sense of VINX’s range, VINX has worked with and inspired some of the greatest icons of our time such as Stevie Wonder, Sting, Cassandra Wilson, Herbie Hancock, Branford Marsalis, Patrice Rushen, Harvey Mason, Taj Mahal, Brenda Russell, Sheryl Crow, Will Downing, Darius Rucker, Seal and Cher.

Stevie Wonder said that “VINX is the gift you give to someone you really care about,” and in the words of Sting, “Oh my God.” But perhaps Al Jareau said it best, “The future of vocal jazz innovation is safe in the voice of VINX.” As VINX’s mother always said, “You can’t sing of life unless you live it” and in his 30 year career and with 15 solo CDs under his belt, it’s clear that VINX loves his job and is living it.
