Editorial Reviews of "A LITTLE TRIP"

Beatles Unlimited Magazine
"This, by all means, is the real thing. The Beatles have split; long live the Vinyl Kings!" (Mees van Ditzhuyzen)

Indie-Music.Com
"A absolutely, postively, freakish channeling of the original spirit of the Fab Four amplified to 11. A masterwork of melodious metamorphosis." (Heidi Drockelman)

BBC Radio Merseyside, Liverpool, UK
"Some of these songs could have been hits for the Beatles" (Spence Leigh, DJ)

Way FM, Austraillia
"The Vinyl Kings sound is erie, reminiscent, thoughtful, fresh and just plain great!" (Mark O'Neill, DJ)

The Great Take-Over Magazine
"Like all great, user friendly albums, A Little Trip falls naturally into your ears with no fuss, no muss, just good old fashioned songcraft performed by musicians who clearly love what they're doing." (Brad Harvey)

Torpedo.Com
"What's great about this album is that with every new listen, you discover some new, tiny little detail, that skipped your attention before, making it a never-ending "little trip" through the Beatles' legacy ... and beyond. Take this "little trip" for a GREAT BIG pleasure. (Goran Obradovic/ POPISM)

---------------

The members of the Vinyl Kings have individually produced, written songs for, played on recordings by, or toured with such artists as Sting, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Neil Young, Shawn Colvin, Shania Twain, Paul Brandt, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Winwood, Dan Fogelberg, Glenn Frey, J.D. Souther, Kim Carnes, Peter Frampton, Bobby Womack, Steve Earle, Bob Seger, Vince Gill, John Fogerty, Mark Knopfler, Faith Hill, Tina Turner, Martina McBride, James Ingram, Leann Rimes, Michael McDonald, Trisha Yearwood, Rosanne Cash, Wynonna Judd, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steppenwolf, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Kathy Mattea, Lyle Lovett and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

In early 2001 the Vinyl Kings decided to try some thing new: To record a CD of their original songs that would draw upon one of their greatest influences, The Beatles.

One could say that their CD "A Little Trip" is a concept record.

But the band would say that it is more of a homage to not only the Beatles, but to a time in musicial history that changed their lives forever.

Silly Love Songs & Flights of Fancy
author: Jazzy Cat
One thing that is not lacking in Vinyl Kings is talent and experience. Every member is an artist in their own right either producing, writing, or performing with the biggest names in the music industry. On A LITTLE TRIP they pay homage to one of the early influences in their careers and in music in general. These newly and well crafted compositions take on the life of the Beatles sound. The vocal harmonies and musical passages are reminiscent of the Fab Four. All phases of the Beatles musical journey are represented; the forthright simplicity of "I Took a Chance"; the sticky sweetness of "Here We Go Again"; the whimsy of "Chocolate Cake"; the ethereal "What If It Were You"; and the hard rockin' "I'm Losing My Mind." They even touch on social commentary with "Bang Bang" expressing contempt for modern day music. All of these honor the Lads from Liverpool well. The title song explains it all, their raison d'etre. Buy this CD, you won't regret A LITTLE TRIP down memory lane!

A Little Trip
author: Paul Fida
I just finished listening to `a little trip’. Your production is excellent. Your Vocals are meaningful and warm (Paul would be proud), while your composition structure is up to the fab four themselves. Your musicianship is proficient, exacting and emotional (George would be proud). Your harmonies are the very meaning of Beatles. Your production is second to none and your mix is spot on. I can't really add any more to all the rave reviews that have already been submitted - except to say that the Vinyl Kings recreate the excitement of the Beatles, in the highest sense of accomplishment. Excellence squared!!!

The 5th Beatle
author: Sheryl G
There have always been and will continue to be arguments about who the 5th Beatle was. Well ladies and gentlemen, listen to this CD and you'll know. Having heard them live in Nashville I couldn't wait for this CD and the second one to come out. Absolutely brilliant and I think even Paul and Ringo would agree. I was listening to it in my car with a friend who'd not heard them before and he kept getting this puzzled look on his face. What's wrong I asked him. His response was I don't remember which Beatles albums these songs are on. That's how good they are and it takes a real Beatles fan to be able to appreciate the sheer genius behind this band. The second CD comes in second but only because the entire CD is not Beatles type music. I love the Beach Boys as well but would have prefered that an entire CD be done with their sound and Time Machine be another Beatles. Ah, but it's not so all I can do is hope for a 3rd one.
