ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
All songs written and performed by Violent Kin (S.J. Kardash & Maygen Kardash). Drums performed by Tallus Scott (except on The Honesty, drums performed by S.J. Kardash). Recorded by S.J. Kardash. Mixed by Mike Major. Mastered by Dave Greenberg. Released independently Sept 20, 2011.

"The slinky guitars on the latest from Violent Kin—featuring the Kardash siblings, SJ and Maygen—wind their way through a record full of steady, propulsive beats and here-and-gone-again glitchy sounds, draping the music in layers of twists and turns. SJ and Maygen split the vocals, and each brings their own character to the party while sitting comfortably within a shared musical landscape seemingly born of programmed beats ripped from the '80s and indie rock escaped from the '90s, or some combination anyway, along with a healthy dose of deconstruction. It's a violent, combustible combination, and there's nary a boring note to be found in the mix." -Vue Magazine (Edmonton, AB)
