In just two years, Violet Nine performed 250 shows from Boston to Los Angeles, received rave reviews in over 40 publications including Performer Magazine, performed with national recording acts such as EVE6 and Rubyhorse, and ingeniously crafted a new brand of pop music they describe as "melodic and driving rock with ambient textures". Their unique sound is a result of full collaboration. Every song is written in rehearsal and is a sincere union of the member's personalities and influences.
In the spring of 2004 the buzz surrounding Violet Nine became impossible to ignore. They hit #1 on BarStar.com's Hot 100 Boston Bands and set out for what proved to be an extremely successful west coast tour. Director Martin Guigui (Changing Hearts, Swing) fell in love with Violet Nine during a Los Angeles show, and this winter the band will be contributing original material to Martin Guigui's upcoming film, National Lampoons "Cattle Call" (distributed by Universal/Dominion). The soundtrack will be produced by Baraka (Fleetwood Mac, Sting, Weezer, Chris Issak).
After the December 2004 release of their first live album "Live From The Cutting Room", Violet Nine head south to the legendary Quad Studio in Nashville, TN to record with famed rock producer Greg Archilla (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul, Edwin McCain). The album will be nationally released in the summer of 2005 with a tour shortly after.

Great live performance

While I've never seen V9 live, this album is a great disc with catchy songs that I listen to over and over. I'm excited to hear their studio release in spring 2006. If you're a fan of melodic, yet rockin' tunes, you should order a copy of this for yourself! (more driving than U2 and less intense than Muse/Radiohead -- but all the good singing!)
