ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Violet Rays are a three-piece indie/folk group from Montreal, Quebec. Their music has been described as catchy and emotional, angry-girl-rock that's somehow still soft and melodic. The band's influences range from coastal folk to electro to punk, forming a style that is hard to pin under one label, but nonetheless it is filled with colorful heart-and-soul energy.

Violet Rays are the winners of the "Réalise ton Rêve" contest hosted by Archambault, Musitechnic and Audiobec, which allowed them to record their first EP in the summer of 2009 in Montreal.

"When we met our souls were like rays of light shining on each other. Like dawn, the angles changed, as did the colors. And those rays from our souls intertwine. We circle ourselves, we dance, we make noise. Our energy is in the shapes that we make, the songs we create, the emotions we can't escape."
