Vivian has released 5 albums and four singles. Her music has been compared to Dylan, Cohen, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams, The Psychedelic Furs, Morrissey, and Jeff Buckley.
The new cd SHAMELESS is produced by Detroit Rock’n’Roll Royalty VINNIE DOMBROSKI (Sponge/Crud), with contributions from TIM PATALAN, ROSCOE, JOEY MAZZOLA (Detroit Cobras), LUIS RESTO (Eminem), CAROLYN STRIHO (Patti Smith) and JIM DIAMOND (White Stripes).
Spring 2008 sees the release of Jim Donovan’s latest Feature Film 3 Saisons which picked up Vivian’s single “I Like” for the soundtrack. V & the band also appear on CBC’s new tv drama THE BORDER early in the year.
2007 Vivian appears on DEGRASSI TNG in a concert performance at the ‘Campus Club’. Multiple songs from Vivian George have been featured on DEGRASSI (CTV/Noggin) in the soundtracks over the past few years.
MELINDA CLARK (OC,CSI) sings V’s song COULD I from the new CD SHAMELESS in a karaoke scene in the 2007 Movie of the Week SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY (Blythe & Virginia) (Lifetime US / CTV Canada). OLLI OLLI OXENFREE another track from SHAMELESS is in this film. A music video for the single COULD I was produced by Julian Grant and shot with V and the band at The Wreck Room in Toronto.
2007 Movie of the Week LIES AND CRIMES (LIFETIME US./ W Network Canada) features the track IT’S JUST ME from the new album.
2007 Movie of the Week WIDE AWAKE (LIFETIME US/ CTV Canada) has IT’S JUST ME in it’s soundtrack.
Movie of the Week The CHEATERS CLUB(LIFETIME/ W Network) grabbed 6 tracks in 2006.
And Movie of the Week OBITUARY LIFETIME US / W Network) also claimed songs in 2006.
Mick Collins (The Dirtbombs) debuted SHAMELESS on his finale radio show on Detroit’s WDET.
2002 saw the release of two cd’s THIS LOVE and I DON’T WANT ANYTHING. Produced by award winning LINDY and DARYN BARRY these songs were stripped and recorded for the audiences of VIVIAN’s acoustic shows. Three of these tracks were recorded with 2003 OSCAR/GRAMMY winner LUIS RESTO (Lose Yourself / Eminem 8 Mile Soundtrack).
Also in 2002 V received the reader’s choice award from EYE MAGAZINE - TORONTO’S BEST – FAVORITE MUSICIAN FEMALE (former winners in this category: Nelly Furtado, Amanda Marshall, Alanis Morrisette.)
In 1997 VIVIAN released hARD produced by KEN MYHR (Cowboy Junkies, Jane Siberry). The title track placed third out of 1500 entries in the MIX 99.9 radio songwriting competition, receiving airplay all across Canada.
Two songs from the hARD album were chosen for the feature film THE CONTRACT (SHOWCASE). Two more tracks were the soundtrack for 2001's ROGERS/AT&T PAY AS YOU GO commercials and the song WAKE TO WEEP was picked up for the feature film KAREFUL (SHOWCASE).
Recently V cut two tracks with KENNY GREER (Tom Cochran, Red Rider) who produced IF IT WILL FLOAT and I LIKE.
VIVIAN'S 2001 single "THE CHRISTMAS SONG" was produced by MATTHEW GERRARD (Hillary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavine, High School Musical).
And in the very beginning was the indie cassette STRONGER FOR THE FALL a ’94 Canadian industry release which ended up receiving commercial airplay in the United Kingdom.
