Album Notes

The debut, 'At Rest In God', was a creative mix with just about every electronic genre mashed into its genius. This second album moves firmly away from those early scribblings and we really taste the more refined qualities of Piers Williamson (aka Vivid Prophet). Enlisting singer Liz Hallam, Piers pens an 11-song album with strong lyrics and even stronger beats. Smart drums and chunky bass lines blend perfectly with clever guitar rhythms, not dissimilar to recent Massive Attack tracks. In fact, if you want to compare, this sounds like the kind of album Kosheen would have produced had they not disappeared down the MOR route. Refreshing, unique and well-crafted, this is a must have from the UK dance underground.

Vivid Prophet 7/10 much improved

This CD is good 7/10 not enough variation to give it an 8. I would like to have seen more experimentation. Track 1 is a killer but the rest of the album does not match up. Good but not great. Also I would like to have seen more effets on vocals. The vocals are a little plain and could use some touching up to make the entire album listenable.

This CD is awesome. I loved the tracks Dubplate, Simple and Chemicals. Really uplifting lyrics and phat bass lines.
