Blending traits of techno with dark wave, Vix produces a sound that achieves quite accessible appeal with its mixture of artificiality and integrally human verve. This album is electronic rock, with guitar, and bass.

Begin with electronic grinding and sinuous E-perc; as things progress, these two aspects commence a transference that banishes any barriers between the aura and the beats. Add a guitar growl that sneers like a lizard hidden in the brush. Enter Vix's voice, rich and sultry with eerie sentiments. Trembling keyboards inject a delicate otherworldliness to this music that somehow grounds everything to familiar substance.
Blending traits of techno with dark wave, Vix produces a sound that achieves quite accessible appeal with its mixture of artificiality and integrally human verve. In fact, the lyrical topics often center on this conjunction of wires and dreams, exploring the interface between technology and mortal existence. Dreamy melodies are infused with a dark power that promises mysteries more than nightmares. Such gothic sensibilities are tempered with a softness that bestows the freshness of dawn to the tuneage, bringing light to the nocturnal with Vix's uplifting vocal qualities. A few instrumental pieces (like "Electronic Tribute to Toshiro Mifune") provide a glimpse into
even more ethereal territory with their fragile definition of heavenly realms.

Stunning!
author: DJ dANTE
I absolutely love Broken Angels Singing and will be playing it this weekend at the pub. Other stand-outs are: Doll Heart, Stuck and Sunrise of the Mind. Doll Heart is perfect for opening up a set on a downtempo, while Broken Angels Singing pumps it up to get the dancers moving. Jenn's voice on this disc is beautiful.

Eerie and lovely vocal equivalent of James' Turn of the Screw.
author: Johanna M. Brewer, journalist, Plano, Texas
Musical background on each song may vary in tempo but each creates a mysterious fog of sound that hides, frames, opens windows to the singer's variegated voice. The filmy audio screen that sometimes provides a sound "scrim" for the singer creates a now you see it, now you don't musical experience that is an eerie, mysterious and lovely equivalent of James' Turn of the Screw.

GREAT

In short, this is a very good album, with tracks that are strong enough to stand on their own, but also work well with the rest of the CD. I recommend it if you’re a fan of darker trip-hop, and goth influenced music. To read a full review about it, please visit our website.
