For five years, they've been called "the hottest band between Memphis and the Sun." With the release of their new CD BODY ROCKIN', their territory is expanding.
Featuring three female singers and four male musicians, The Venus Mission has performed over 300 shows at area nightclubs, casinos, and festivals, plus numerous galas and private events. In 2005, the band began writing original music and caught the attention of Grammy-winning producer Chris Trevett (Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc.), who came to Memphis to produce a four-song demo for the band. After enthusiastic reaction to the demo, the band continued to write and record, working with Memphis producer and musician Niko Lyras (Wendy Moten, Triple 6 Mafia, etc.). With eight original tunes and three well-chosen covers, the group finished BODY ROCKIN' at the end of 2006.
The band's songs are best described as contemporary dance pop with an 80's feel. The group also puts its modern signature on three classic 80's tunes: Obsession (Animotion), Give Me Back My Man (The B-52’s), and Only the Lonely (The Motels).
Featuring Izzi-B, C.C., and Trixie6 on vocals -- backed by Jim Britt (drums), Kim Trammell (drums), Matt Isbell (guitar), Adam Levin (keyboards and guitar), and Jeff Potter (bass) -- the album boasts a wealth of the finest vocalists and players in Memphis, one of the world's great music cities.
Overall, BODY ROCKIN' explores universal themes of love, lust, infatuation, and heartbreak from a female perspective -- all with a beat that will make you want to hit the nearest dance floor. Soaring vocals, lush harmonies, crafty lyrics, and killer musicianship prove that The Venus Mission is ready to blast off to stardom. The countdown has begun...

The Venus Mission debut CD "Body Rockin' " is filled with SPUNK (in a great way)! This band, fronted with three beautiful ladies, has talent, energy, and enough spunk to make your body wanna ROCK. Mass appeal for originality and tightly woven as a cover band, The Venus Mission brings back the sounds of the 80’s with a youthful appeal and their own spin on their new songs; eight original tunes on this CD, plus three favorite covers from funky bands of the eighties. WOW, the incredible hooky "Le Meow" is truly a playful little song with terrific dynamics, sure to be a big hit on the dance floor. Best pick is "Brink Of Insanity" for originality. If you are looking for a dance party CD, look no further. Here it is. Pick it up today!
