Talk about a revival, this inspiring brand new production by Vincent Montana, Jr. revisits his Salsoul Orchestra days complete with the trademark instrumentation he is most famous for – velvety vibes, sexy strings and “kickin’ ass” brass. On the Original Version Montana is in his element and remains loyal to his own style and sound exuding pure sophistication and class straight from the heart. On the Instrumental, the music takes center stage, proving to be one of Montana’s finest, most intriguing arrangements to date.
To top it off is one of Philly’s greatest soul groups “Double Exposure” best known for their successful singles “Ten Percent” and “My Love Is Free” which propelled them to the top of the charts in the late 70s yet can still be heard today. Although it’s been decades since they last recorded together, with their enormous versatility and finesse, Double Exposure soulfully express the depth and feeling envisioned for the project.
Louis Benedetti provides two new mixes where he brings the Rhythm Guitars more upfront, adds tougher beats and a heavy bass line reaching a nice combination between acoustic and electronic elements and yet still staying true to the original musical composition. As a bonus, Louis borrows parts from the original version, adds a slick Moog synth line and provides a Reprise Dub.
Montana’s “Everything” is music and once again he stays true to form and continues to spread his message with this classic and intriguing arrangement. With Louis Benedetti on the remixes “You Are My Everything” offers polished funk with slick instrumental styling ideal for today’s diversified dance floors.
Taken from the 12" vinyl PSW-12003 and PSW-12004.
