ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Three words describe her music: vocabulary, sensibility and fire." Criterion Jazz Review. Vicky Mountain has been a popular "voice" in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) since the 1970s. Her eclectic past includes R&B, big bands, avant-garde jazz and combos of all sizes. Her lyric writing has enhanced all kinds of jazz - standard and not so standard. Her intimate ballads draw your heart in and her exciting bebop and hipbop tunes wake up your feet. "Don't Go To Stangers" is her second offering and Tom Surowizc of the Mpls. Star Tribune says "Vicky Mountain pulls out all the stops." Leigh Kamman of The Jazz Image on MPR calls her CD "delightfully fresh." And new - it's got a release date of January, 2005. More to come - or check out her website at www.vickymountain.com.
