VEE / MAG SAX PROJECT

The Vee/MagSax Project is a Duo comprised of two first class musicians. Marc Vee, who plays acoustic and electric guitars and Johnny Mag Sax, who plays alto and soprano saxophones. The two artists first crossed paths between performances at The Keylime Bistro on Captiva Island, Florida and decided to try collaborating on some original music. Their very first writing session yielded the tune "Outta Sight" which, is included on their debut CD entitled, "Souled Out".

After realizing their exceptional chemistry, Marc Vee and Johnny MagSax continued to write song after song in a very inspired and consistent routine until they had an album's worth of material. At that point, they decided to call this new duo, " Vee/Mag Sax Project " or VMP. The music that VMP plays has many influences ranging from traditional Jazz, Funky Soul, Smooth Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and all the way to Latin and Contemporary Pop music. This duo's individual members have paid their dues respectively.

Marc Vee started playing the Guitar at the age of seven, received his formal training at the University of Miami (Majoring in Studio Music and Jazz Guitar) and has spent many years as a professional musician, producer and guitar teacher. Marc has played on many recording sessions following his debut on a TK Records release. "Amant" was listed on the Billboard charts. The guitarist also toured as a sideman with various major label, recording artists: such as Nil Lara (Capital Records), Maria Conchita Alonso (A&M Records), Lucia Mendez (Sony Records), among others and performed with various popular local bands in his hometown Miami Florida. Marc has produced several albums for Pop, Rock and Smooth Jazz Artists as well as two of his own CD's entitled, "Speaking in Sounds" and "Magic Moments" (available at www.marcvee.com). He is also the producer of the debut VMP CD "Souled Out". Marc Vee currently lives in Estero, Florida.

Johnny Magsax was born in Rochester, New York. He started playing the Saxophone when he was in the 5th Grade. He went on to play in High School Jazz and Concert Band in Jacksonville, Illinois where he grew up. He attended Western Illinois University as a Music Performance Major. While Johnny was at WIU he was also in R.O.T.C. ( Reserve Officers Training Course ), which offered him the opportunity to audition for an Elite group of Musicians, The United States Army Band.

Johnny toured overseas with the Army Band for 2 years, playing for Military and Presidential Dignitaries as well as many concert venues with local Bands in Germany.

After transferring back to the U.S.A., Johnny was assigned to Ft. Hood next to Austin, Texas where he frequently played night clubs on the famous 6th street. There, he added a blues angle to his already versatile playing style. Johnny then moved to Southwest Florida in 1997 and currently resides in Orlando, Florida.

Johnny Mag Sax has performed on many album's with some top named recording artists such as , Paul Jackson Jr. , Ruth Ann Galatas , Tata Vega , Paul Russo and Tom Dowd.

Very soothing, smoothe sax. Love it. I am just sorry that there was only one of Johnny Mag's albums available. Aren't there any more, or is this the first?

Most first albums have just a couple of great songs but this one has many. I purchased this one locally and crank it up when I get home to help me get down and relax! Nice job! Where can I get more from both?
