Album Notes

VOCAL VANGUARD sings original contemporary A capella music.

VOCAL VANGUARD songs differ from other songs. They have drums, percussion, bass, guitar, brass, and other instuments. But the difference is that all of these sounds are made by the best instrument of them all; the human voice.

Below are some lyrics from VOCAL VANGUARD

DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY 2

Look out there, your credit cards due
And you’ve got very little revenue
Don’t Worry Be Happy

You dropped a call with your boss last night
You hope that at work there won’t be a fight
Don’t Worry Be Happy

You got a fender bender at the grocery store
Now your insurance rates will sore
Don’t Worry Be Happy

You got a text message from your new girlfriend
She said it might be time to end
But Don’t Worry Be Happy

You’ve only got three friends on MySpace
That’s OK, maybe its just not your place
That’s Ok cause they don’t even know your face
Don’t Worry Be Happy

(La La La)
Don’t Worry…. Be Happier

You just found out you get no tax return
Cause you found about the money you didn’t really earn
Don’t Worry Be Happy

On your birthday no-one called
And you found out your going bald
Don’t Worry Be Happy

Your best friend earns more than you
And he just bought a new Sea-Doo
But Don’t Worry Be Happy

You next door neighbor just bought a car
And yours won’t even go very far
Don’t Worry Be Happy

You’ve got to pay your school loans off
Your girlfriend fell in love with Hasselhoff
But don’t worry, Be Happy

You can’t afford the prime time flick
So you rent a movie and let your girlfriend pick
Don’t Worry Be Happy

You barely ran a stop sign last week
Your excuse for the cop was weak
Don’t Worry Be Happy

Your video only got a hundred views
A comment said you weren’t made for youtube
Don’t Worry Be Happy

FOR THE LONGEST TIME (NO TEXT MESSAGE)

I can text faster than anyone in town
So the next fastest person better now step-down

But I haven’t got a text message in three hours now
I look in the mirror and I ask myself ‘How?’

I pay a lot of money for that extra feature
And then my cell phones get taken from my English teacher

She said ‘Don’t be texting in class boys.’
And then says ‘In my room there won’t be any toys.’

So I sit and I watch the clock all hour
And finally the bell rings and I’m feeling sour

I get my cell phone back and there are no missed calls
I’m thinking ‘what up are people hangin out at the malls?

Chorus

For the longest time, there was no text message
I’m thinking ‘Man, its should be a privelage.
For the longest time, there was no text message
I don’t know how long I can take this suffrage
From No Text Message

Then my cell phone started to vibrate
Yeah, I’m thinking its my next date

But then I look down at the phone
And its just saying I starting to roam

What? I thought my plan paid for that
Now I’m locked in for two years Oh Drat!

That’s OK I’ve still got plenty of battery
And lots of room on my text for flattery

Maybe I should sent out a texting blast
And reach all my buds real fast

And tell them about my latest dilemma
And to text me back or I’ll text their momma

I can text faster than anyone in town
So the next fastest person better now step-down

ABOUT THE ALBUM: Super Music Dollar Value Menu

Riley, Vocal Vanguard vocalist, wrote the lyrics of nearly all of the songs one morning at home on his computer. He sat down his swivel chair one cold morning and started typing about whatever was on the top of his mind. The songs started to form; one after another.

Recording for this album started in early February of 2008 at Bandgard Recording Studio located in Mesa, Arizona. The main recording room was painted by Riley himself back in 2001. He painted a mural of an outdoor scene to promote inspiration. With one nice vocal microphone, Riley began recording track by track, instrument by instrument. Very soon, the songs formed just like painting on a canvas. One by one, the songs were finished. After each recording session, Riley would take a listening copy of the songs home and listen to them over and over to see what needed fixing. After feedback from a few friends and family, Riley finished the Vocal Vanguard recordings which are available to you now.

Enjoy the songs and listen carefully to the lyrics because they just might make you laugh.

Amazing
author: Michelle
Honestly, these are some of the greatest original songs I've heard yet. They have great beats, are fun to sing (or relate to), and make me laugh. I really like "Roses in December" and "Holiday".

excellent harmonizing
author: marilyn Freeman
I myself am a musician and am pretty good at harmonizing but not with ten different parts. Where do you start recording with that many parts? Riley has so much raw talent and channels it well into lots of fresh music. Each some is unlike the next. The good thing about this album is how relatable it is. Who hasn't used coupons? Who hasn't looked at their phone just waiting for a text? Who doesn't have moments where they jsut don't want to go to work? Great songs, great album!
