Sammy Joe Voiles is an independent recording artist and songwriter. He likes performing, but his main focus is always on writing a great song. He is currently interested in writing songs for established artists and popular media like movies and television. "I grew up listening to the Allman Bros. Lynrd Skynrd, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Crosby Stills Nash Young, Creedence Clearwater, Joan Baez, Seals and Crofts, all of the great singer/songwriters, Stones, Aerosmith, and then my Mother listened to the sixties, so I got to hear alot of that, Motown, Beatles, etc. And my grandparents listened to country, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, etc. So...I really don't know what I am as far as genre. I just like music........I even listen to classical music, funk, R&B, Soul, Alternative, you name it."



LIFE IS A RIVER

"I believe that life is like a river and we are all rafts. Some of us are sitting along the banks, some are struggling against the current and some of us are gently floating with the current. The rafts on the bank don't want to get wet. The rafts that are struggling against the current are still looking for answers. And the rafts that are gently floating with the current have discovered that life rolls on with or without your participation - and the current is the truth."
