In the racing world, the German expression 'Start-Ziel-Sieg' designates an undisputed, glorious victory after having led the entire field of competitors for the duration of the race; hence [literally] 'start-to-finish-victory'.

Volkmar Klien works in various areas of the sonic arts; from electronica to interactive installations, from sonic interventions to instrumental compositions. Presentations of his work have included concerts and installations at festivals and institutions such as Ballett Frankfurt, Volksoper Wien, the Institute for Contemporary Art London, Wien Modern, the ZKM Karlsruhe and the Huddersfield Festival of Contemporary Music.
