The collection includes CDs comprising live recordings of complete concerts at various International festivals and concert series (Vienna, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Maribor, Rogaska Slatina, Zemono), and also CDs with live recordings selected from other concerts and from the concerts described above.

"Volodja Balzalorsky is passionately devoted to the violin, inspired by the flame which distinguishes the most refined and authentic violinists, and is capable of building the dramatic development of musical works in the most natural and persuasive manner. His interpretation calls for an enthusiastic and compassionate listener, which is the distinction of the rare born musician."
Slobodan Turlakov - "Vecerne novosti"

This well regarded critic described the artistic personality of Volodja Balzalorsky after his successful performance in the International concert series "Violin virtuosos", April 1988 in Belgrade.

Volodja Balzalorsky is one of the leading Slovenian violinists, and a frequent performer throughout Europe, and North America.
Critics have described him as an artist with a sensitive, intelligent and intuitive gift of interpretation, a polished technique, and a rich, full tone.

He is a member of the Amael Piano Trio, artistic director of
Ensemble Ouverture, and Professor of Violin at the Academy of Music
of the University of Ljubljana.

After graduating from the class of professor Igor Ozim at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany, he continued his studies in Moscow with Galina Barinova at the Conservatorium P.I.Tchaikovsky, with Josip Klima at the Music Academy in Zagreb, where he received his Master's Degree, and with the eminent Czech violinist Josef Suk at the Universität für Musik in Vienna.
He has made many solo and chamber music appearances in concert and on broadcasts and recordings in Slovenia and abroad, and has been a regular guest at international festivals in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Croatia, Yugoslavia and the Czech Republic.
He is particularly active in the field of chamber music. He works with many ensembles, and for several
years has successfully performed in duet with pianists Christoph Theiler and Hinko Haas. Critics comment
on the degree to which he is able to develop and maintain unity with his
musical partners in this milieu, presenting "...an exceptional harmony of
ease and authenticity of performance."
He was solo violinist and concert master of the Freiburger Barocksolisten in Germany, with whom he recorded two CD's, and has been a soloist with orchestras in Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
He is also very interested in contemporary music, and regularly performs works written for him by Slovenian composers. He has also performed with the Percussion Plus Project in Prague, Venice, and the USA.
Volodja Balzalorsky considers teaching an important and complementary part of his artistic career (Violin class at the Music Academy in Ljubljana), and regularly gives master classes in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Great Britain, and the United States.

REVIEWS

the same league as many of the better international performances of the past 20
author: AMG All Music Guide by James Leonard
Extract: Balzalorsky's Dvorák Sonatina is delightful and soulful, his Debussy Sonata is light and ethereal, his Paganini Cantabile is ripe and tender, and his Srebotnjak Sonata No. 1 is powerful and persuasive. With the sympathetic accompaniment of German pianist Christoph Theiler, Balzalorsky's performances are easily in the same league as many of the better international performances of the past 20 years and well worth hearing.
